We have had a number of opportunities over the years to work with the remarkable youth Professional Television Training Program (Pro-TV) at the Downtown Community Television Center in New York. For this particular trip we took a group of New York City high school students to Chiapas, Mexico. The Zapatista rebel movement in Chiapas was celebrating the fifth anniversary of its inception, so Pro-TV went to Chiapas to produce a documentary about the Zapatista cause. The Zapatista rebels became known to the world in 1994, when they took Chiapas by force in protest to Mexico's signing of the Free Trade Agreement.
